"And I've hurt you, and I've hurt Katima, and I've hurt Avalon. And it was because I wasn't thinking. And I need to set it right, if I can." He steps away from the lean to look Josh in the face. "I know I don't deserve it after what I've done... but I have to ask a favor. I need to go after Avalon. I need to bring him back, at least long enough to talk to all three of you at the same time. And that means I need someone to watch over Coast City when I'm gone."
He looks into Josh's eyes, his own also wet. "Please... if not for me, then for Avalon, to give me a chance to set things right for him."
