One of those things that's going to get Henry in plenty of trouble in times to come? Malicor isn't stupid. He's aware its become two on one, despite his efforts. He's aware of the nature of blue and green rings working together. He's aware he had a blue ring, and he let it slip through his fingers. And he even briefly considers retreat.
And then the orange ring kicks in, and greed wins.
"MINE!" he snaps, tendrils of orange light come twisting and writhing at the pair.
