Henry puts up shields in front of the building -- easier than trying to block the cannon itself at this speed. No one gets to die today. He's protecting Coast City, dammit.
Combined with the enhanced power from the Blue Lantern, his ring barely makes a dent in his charge.
He puts on additional speed, hoping to close in on the ship.
