Alerron had not expected the question from her; he did not think he would see her again, after Okara. He was supposed to have made his peace with losing her, as he had with losing his parents. In fact, it was Katima who'd set him free of that burden, allowing him to focus on his training.
He sighed deeply, not meeting her eyes for a long moment.
"Yes, I do, Indigo Woman. I have never stopped. But I am clear on where your heart lies, and I do not seek a reunion. I know that Henry cares for you, and I do not seek to interfere in that. If not for a twist of fate, we would not be sitting here now, so I do not entertain the notion that you have waited for me." he tells her, the words tumbling out of his mouth.
