Jai nods his head in sad agreement. "Yeah, same with my mom. She's been going on about how you're going to college next year, and I'm still in high school. Then she started in on the twenty questions, and she's a reporter. I'm starting to get why people don't like to talking to the media." he says ruefully.
"She also practically accused me of lying to her about where I'd be. Which I didn't. I went to a friend's house to do homework, and we did that. I just left a little early and came to see you. But she called him, and he didn't think of a cover fast enough. So I got the third degree." he says.
He's silent for a long moment, before he decides to venture forth with his next question.
"Does my age bother you, Traya?"
