Katima may have been retreating, but that didn't stop her from seeing Malicor's anger as it descended down on Avalon.
Without his ring, Avalon was powerless against someone as strong as Malicor. On the other side of the orange wall, the madman came storming out of the ether, wielding his power with a vengeance. Avalon was banded by several colors of light, and sucked off into the blackness behind him just as quickly as she was retreating. The last thing that Katima might have seen was Malicor's malicious smile.
