"I am alive, Katima. That is much more than I can say for some." he says. He does not turn to face her, but he doesn't tell her to leave, either. Despite his current demeanor, he needs someone near him right now, or he may do something foolish.
"How...how did you do it? When we parted ways, how did you seal away your memories of me so that they did not hurt you? I am in need of sealing off my heart, Katima, before this pain devours me whole." he tells her.
