Suddenly, Darkseid is standing directly over Avia. The rest of the crowd seems to pass through him as they claw at her, trying to draw her closer to them.
"I can taste your fear, little Avia. You wonder why I did not take you as I took your sister, do you not? I knew that your father and mother would come for their firstborn. Parents only truly care for their first born children.
I am the second-born child in my family, and I would have been forgotten and cast aside if I had not taken power when it was offered. Hope is little more than a dumb brute, but /you/ could be even greater than your father, mother and sister combined, if you have but the will to take it.
Your father is far too proud to give me what I seek. But you see the odds around you. How can you survive? How can you win against my might? You cannot.
Tell him to stand down, and he will listen. There is no reason for you to die on your sister's behalf and for your father's pride." he says into her mind.
