'Burn victim', yeah, that had been a fun cover story to plan in advance.
Roger had planted himself at a diner right in the middle of town for a while, listening to the comings and goings as he sipped some lemonade through a straw. He garnered a few looks, but he'd chatted up the waitress enough that anyone in the whole place heard his cover story as soon almost as they came in.
He knew things were different in the south, but damn, these folks were free about what was on their mind. He kept it on his own mind as he headed to meet back up with the other two-thirds of Caulder's Angels.
