"Oh. Well, I'll, uh, let you know if I hear from him. I wanted to talk to him anyway." Mitzi says.
She pauses for a long time, not saying anything.
"My apartment building just burned down a couple of hours ago. All my stuff is gone, pretty much...and my mom didn't get out. I'm all alone now." Mitzi says, trying to keep the tears out of her eyes.
"My brother is in jail. I tried calling Jai, but he didn't pick up and Cait didn't either." Mitzi says.
