As soon as she had received the latter, Victoria had left, taking Salome with her across the distance that was no distance at all to one who knew the proper way to walk the path.
They appeared in Lily's lab, without fanfare or production, or anything other than the sense that they had, perhaps, been there all along and had simply not been noticed before then.
"You have called, Lily King," she said, "and we have answered."
