Roy's eyes narrow at his daughter. Whatever it is, she's trying to spare him, even though it's causing her pain. She used to get like that when she asked about Jade and why Jade wasn't there for her. But she didn't like asking because she always thought she was hurting Roy by wanting to know about her mother.
It had taken a long time for him to purge her of that line of thought.
His eyebrows raise as if he's asking the question again.
