New Years House Party [open to all!]
On the morning of December 31st, Cinna was up bright and early making sure that everything was prepared for the giant party she was throwing later that evening. She hadn't specified any start time, thinking people would show up whenever they like knowing full well that the fireworks were on at midnight (after all, it was a New Years Eve party, and people weren't completely stupid).
Along with Independence Day, New Years was one of Cinna's favorite holidays. She just loved fireworks, and having the holidays at opposite ends of the year meant that they could be experienced in different ways. One was all about summer barbecues, and the other was about getting tipsy and ridiculous with friends.
She decisively banished her parents to their end of the house once the first guests arrived. She didn't need their help-- people could get their own food and drinks out of the kitchen and entertainment areas where it was all laid out and ready for the taking-- and she certainly didn't need her mom ogling all the teenage boys about. Or worse: Them ogling her back.
She offered silly tiaras and noisemakers to everyone, and put the leftovers in piles on tables for when it was closer to midnight, or when people were just drunk enough to want to play with them anyway, and wandered around to say hi to friends.

As always he came with a large flask of whiskey in his inside jacket pocket (just in case duty called) and happily helped himself into Cinna's mansion without ringing the doorbell. "Probably in the mob," he said to himself in Russian as he looked around feeling like he was on an episode of Cribs. Kazamir made his way into Cinna's kitchen without making any effort to greet anyone but instead wasted no time helping himself to whatever food looked the most appealing.
Lighting up a cigarette near a window while he looked out at the ocean, he took a bite out of a slice of pizza he'd found. He had cracked the nearby window in an attempt to be somewhat courteous while he sniveled at the sight of the ocean being practically her backyard. "I fucking hate Miami," he mumbled to himself, again, in Russian.

The little incident at the winter social was entertaining her far too much, even three weeks after the fact. It only got more amusing as more details were revealed.
He pulled the flask from his pocket, "and no," he added before taking a swig.
"I can't believe you bothered to show!" Not that Kaz didn't like to get wild and fuck shit up, but it was one of Cinna's parties. He usually avoided those like the plague.
Kazamir shrugged a shoulder, "normally I wouldn't come do this sort of thing but getting my pecker ripped off is better than staying home right now. I am trying to avoid seeing my asshole brother." He put the lid back on his flask and put it back in his pocket. He took in the final drag of his cigarette and flicked it out the window. "What's it to you?" he asked, "what are you doing here?"
If Cinna-baiting wouldn't get him out and into the pool, nothing would.
Her stomach gurgled. "Where'd you steal the pizza? And if you brought it with you I am kicking your ass back through the floo to go bring some back."
She skipped around to the other side of the kitchen and scarfed down a slice without ceremony, before more carefully selecting a second one to nurse. Satisfied with her choice, she meandered back around to start the exploration.
"These people are more like... celebritards. Second floor could be the Scientology center."

Her own year was filled with a mixture of good things and bad; she found more good in it than bad, but also quite a bit of peculiar.
She didn't focus much on her own retrospective while she dressed for Cinna's party. She chose a more modern look, a navy blue 1930's gown with era appropriate underthings and a silver fox stole. She coiffed her hair in delicate waves and used her best makeup for the occasion.
She had to take the floo to South Metro and take a cab to Cinnamyn's house, but she arrived in one piece and found a good spot in Cinna's house to arrange herself comfortably and wait for her friends to breeze by.

The boys apparated onto Cinna's front lawn, Thorn a bit drunker than Luka. The older boy stumbled happily up toward the house. Thankfully the pool was out back and he wouldn't fall into it prematurely.
Luka stuck with Thorn for two reasons. He had their flask of super proofed vodka in his pocket and Luka wasn't nearly drunk enough yet in the spirit of the holiday.

Hawthorne managed to look just shameful enough that his cousin almost cut him some slack. "You heard the man, Cin. Let's find a dark corner to do girlfriend things together."
Luka groaned, but then Thorn was sliding his arms around the short girl and pulling him out of her embrace. "You crazy kids have fun with that." He was off to find his girlfriend.

She giggled and squirmed happily against Thorn. "There's drinks in the kitchen!" She yelled after Luka helpfully.
Veronica/Open
She put on her cutest polka dot party dress and took the floo to Cinna's house, mingling through the crowd and looking for someone to hang out with until the ball dropped and the fireworks popped.
