The planet's climate has been changing. Sea levels are rising; polar ice caps are melting. Storms are becoming more violent. Recently, there was an earthquake that rocked the southern edge of the Pacific plate. Hard on it's heels, many sensitives worldwide reported the odd dreams of a Cyclopean landscape of nonsensical angles and brooding menace.

About twenty years ago, a sect sprung up in the organization known as the Watchers. Whereas the Watchers were dedicated to watching and recording the lives of Immortals without interfering, the sect, terming itself "the Hunters," considered Immortals abhorrent-- a threat to humanity and dedicated itself to their destruction. For a brief while, the Hunters were quite active and were responsible for a number of Immortal deaths. After the reported death of James Horton, the founder, the sect seemed to fade into oblivion. Last year, Hunter activity appeared to resume and there have been rumours that Horton is still at the helm.

Everyone's talking about a cosmic alignment, this year, in which our solar system lines up with the exact centre of our galaxy. Our stars, too, are shifting from their accustomed places. One would think that this would be no surprise, considering we're in a spinning galaxy and the Earth wobbles in in her orbit. History does show that when things like this happen, people have to freak out. I've unearthed a couple of journals among the Watchers' Archives that were seemingly penned by Methos, himself, that have made exactly that observation...
