weekly theme


I LOVE MUSIC.

music pretty much makes my life. before I go and post those five songs I just can't stop listening to lately, I'm gonna rant a little bit. I've been singing since I was eight years old and I still sing to this day. I've never done anything professional with it, but I'd like to one day. singing is one of the most invigorating things in the world. there's so much emotion that comes with it, so much release. that's one of the first things that attracted me to singing when I was younger. I'm sure anybody can agree with me on that.

I'm one of those girls that goes crazy over a boy that's in a band. honestly, I freaking love guitar players. if you are excellent at guitar my heart is basically yours. steve vai is my hero and I think he's one of the greatest guitar players in the world. my boyfriend plays bass in a metal band (americult) and the entire band is just amazing. okay, I'm just advertising for them now but if you like metal you should check them out. anyway...


this band is from where I live (san antonio, texas) and if you haven't heard this song, do it now. I rock out in my car to this song, and I have definitely gotten the weird eye from people next to me at a red light when I'm doing so. they can suck it.


I'm so sorry but I'm fucking in love with demi lovato and selena gomez. I know that is illegal but they are what I like to call uncomfortably attractive. demi lovato has an AMAZING voice.


this song gets stuck in my head for DAYS.


between the buried and me is probably the greatest metal band ever. it's difficult to make metal music and screaming sound appealing and even gorgeous, but they can pull it off like nobody's business. their guitarists are intriguing.


last but not least...
this song means a lot to me. the deftones are my favorite band by far. they did an extremely beautiful cover of jealous guy by john lennon, and I've been listening to it like crazy. in the beginning of the song when he says "I was feeling insecure, you might not love me any more" my heart breaks every time I hear chino moreno sing those notes. so fucking beautiful.
