Dane had seen so much death in his life that he thought this should not phase him; they did not have much time to mourn in his world for those lost.
But when they did have time, they honored those who had fallen to protect freedom.
When it is Dane's turn to speak, he looks down at Kevin's resting place and smiles.
"A true warrior and a good man you are Kevin Kinross. May you know more peace now than you did in this life." Dane says quietly.
Who else would they lose before this was over? Would it be Sarah, who threw herself into the fray without regard for life and limb? Or Natasha, who was doing her best not to grow attached to anyone?
Or would be Dane himself who had, for years, stayed a step ahead of death?
He did not know, but he tomorrow, they will be on another world trying to right it before it fell.
The Black Knight would be ready, one way or the other, injuries and all.
