Stark Towers is distinctly not the place any of them recognize. There's no recognizeable faces to be certain. No sign of Pepper Potts, James Rhodes, or any of the other mainstays. The building, and company exist, but most of the pictures and news are old, and show no signs Stark ever divorced himself from the U.S. military contracts. Likewise, the staffing shows a mere skeleton crew, enough to keep things running, but nothing extra, and definitely no signs of any great wealth or success.
And while Tony Stark has made the news many times, some of them in articles still up behind glass in the lobby of the building, there is no mention of Iron Man anywhere. Likewise, there is no Maria Stark Foundation, no Avengers, and no Avengers mansion. All accounts immediately available suggest Tony Stark, when he isn't in residence in the office, now lives in a middle-upper-class apartment not far from the offices.
