Two things that made the Wendigo especially dangerous was both its durability as well its ability to heal quickly. Hobgoblin and Sif's blows struck, but the monster merely roared in annoyance. One clawed hand went to slash into Phil's glider while the beast's mighty tail sped to strike Sif.
