Every now and then, the 'Devil's Luck' is fitting - and pays off here. The returned knife catches Bullseye in the throwing arm just as he was going for the next blade.
He curses under his breath, continuing to back off.
He knows this plan should have worked. He had Daredevil trapped and disoriented, and fighting mad instead of smart. It should have worked - and now he has some tricks for next time - because he's smart and experienced enough to recognize when its not his day.
As he retreats, there's three more knives - one aimed for Natasha's shoulder, the second for Elektra's leg - the better to get them both crying out, distracting Daredevil - but not shooting to kill.
They were great hostages, they will be again someday. And next time he'll get paid for them.
The third and last blade he tries to time for just as the women are feeling the knives - aimed between Daredevil's shoulder blades. It may not be a kill shot, but it should ground him for a while and give him something to remember this encounter by.
