Sophie found herself in the backyard of the mansion, in a white and yellow party dress that looked like it belonged to a six year old. Looking down at it she noticed the white patent leather Mary Jane shoes she was wearing with little frilly socks. “What the heck?” she asked herself as she looked around the yard. The yard looked like a set up for a kiddy party, with pony rides and clowns….

……. Clowns making balloon animals…......

Sophie tried to make her way to her parents who were helping with the food tables but the balloon animal guy came up to her. “Hey little lady, what kind of animal would you like?” he asked as he pulled out a yellow balloon and began to shape it.

“No.” Sophie whispered to herself. “No, no, no, no, no……”

Ok, this was... different, at least. He walks up, putting a hand gently on her shoulder. "Those are impressive. I don't think she wants one though. Can you make a giraffe?"

“Hi Lucas. Bye Lucas.” Sophie said thankful to walk away from the clown. She made it two steps before finding herself in front of a dozen helium balloons in primary colors. The wind was causing them to bump together creating friction and energy. Static electricity to be exact...“Oh god.” She whispered as she began to feel herself taking in the energy.

He bumps the balloons with a hand, letting them drift another direction, but starting to understand why they might be an issue for her.
"Relax, they're easy to get rid of. How much trouble is it to bleed off a little energy at a time? Because I think I have an idea. You make things explode, right?"

Sophie nodded and watched as the balloons drifted away from them. As she looked around the yard she noticed just how many balloons there were around the yard and her panic began to rise steadily. Between the sun and the static she had no idea what kind of havoc would begin because of her. Clenching her jaw she looked over at Lucas ready to hear whatever he had to say. Any idea he had was better than any thoughts she was having.

He nods and picks up a stick. "Shhh, just relax. We're going to play a game, you and I." he says, picking up a stick from the ground, and snapping off a piece about four inches long, handing it over to her.

"This is a party, right? Think you can hit that balloon with your firecracker?" he asks, breaking a few more lengths of stick off at firecracker length for her.

Sophie couldn’t believe the idea, but it couldn’t hurt to try. She tossed the stick in the direction of the bright red balloon and made the stick seem like it spontaneously combusted. The red balloon made a loud pop and the string collapsed as the latex died.

He offers her another length of stick. "You know what there's even more of in the world than balloons? Sticks." he adds calmly, picking another off the ground and starting to prepare it.

"Nice shot, by the way, but the blue one there is probably worth more points, don't you think?"

Sophie laughed and took the next stick. “Yea. But the only time I have to worry about sticks is if someone is trying to make a fire by rubbing them together.” She said tossing the second stick. Again she made it explode. The blue balloon was a bit to close to the two and the flames were closer to the two than Sophie would have liked. “woops.” She said looking nervously at Lucas. “Sorry about that.”

He raises a hand, and calls down a gentle wind to take the flames out.
"Its alright, you just need to work on your aim. I'll be fine. One blue, one red... how many points is that?" he asks, trying to keep her focused on 'there's no reason to fear the balloons, just make a different game out of them'
"And how many points is that yellow one over there?"

Sophie began to feel comfortable with her surroundings, grateful that Lucas was there for her. "I don't know. how about .... about.... infinity and beyond!" she laughed.

He blinks, trying to place the reference. He knows he's heard it before as some pop culture thing, but its not within his limited movie experience.
"Sure." he goes with it. "But you need to hit it first. Double points if you get the green one next to it too."
