Gabriel did feel the knife puncture his stomach, and he cried out in pain. But he had his wooden desk leg, and now he was kneeling over the pyro, face to face with Scarab. The next echange of words was something Gabriel was very proud of.
"Dumbass."
The school was full of trained mutants. A little fire wasn't going to kill them, especially when there was a pyrokinetic and a hydrokinetic (and even a geo-morph) on their side.
He jabbed at the pyro's head with the pointed end of the broken desk leg. The connection between it and Scarab would end if that hit came to. And at the same time, Gabriel punched at Scarab's throat to shut him up. He wanted to kill Scarab, be truly did. But while he was extremely durable and had a lot of stamina to throw around, he was getting fairly exhausted. The pain from his wings was still hurting him, as well as the pain from his burns and the fresh stab wound.
But he hoped that he could at least claim victory over the pyrokinetic bodyguard.
