Halbjorn leaps into the way, not only allowing, but pushing himself onto the spear, grabbing it with one hand to trap the weapon in his guts. A little more blood doesn't bother him any, and if she's smart about it, it prevents Manawydan from defending himself effectively against Svalin.
"Nnnggg... ne'er play a game of blood with an Asgardian. Thou shalt lose."
