"It's good that there's a place they can come to where people understand. It's not like they'll get that understanding anywhere else." he says. He doesn't intend to sound angry or bitter, but those feelings of abandonment and isolation will always be there.
"Do your parents still talk to you, since you came here?" he asks. He'd met people in Genosha, ones who said their own parents threw them out after their powers kicked in. Aunt Jenna didn't know what he could do, but he doesn't believe she'd have thrown him out for knowing.
Dad had people who were there for him. What did his mother have?
