Inside the box was a miniature carousel. Gaily painted with bright colors and accented with gold, only nine and a half inches tall by seven around, a small crank carved out of ivory stuck out of the bottom. There were figures on it, each a small duplicate of one of the Champions dressed for carnival:
Lyta, wings spread in a gold Vegas Show Girl costume, beads hanging from her waist and hair.
Nick, ghostly skull awash in blue flame and put in a suit that made him appear to channel Baron Samedi.
Corey, a body of rock in a strong man pose, tiny shorts and top hat of neon red.
Argo, in his armor but only his face given flesh, the rest of his form a skeletal, sickly mockery of the strength one such as he should have.
Irina, hands bound and stretched over her head to make look as if she hung suspended from the roof of the carousel, a ballerina's tutu in black.
And finally, Eliza, crouched and balancing on a tight-rope, eyes closed with tears of blood.
At the bottom of the box was a flyer announcing the Grand Re-Opening of the Orleans Amusement Park. Just under that were photos taken during the Champions fight with the forces of Pluto.
