Clearing the rainforest for farmland has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever. With no trees to hold it down, the soil ends up nothing but worthless laterite soil. Sure it sculpts okayish -- not that I do, because no good disrupting those areas more than they already have been -- but it almost screams 'do not grow stuff in me'.
