Julian sees DJ's attack, and the moment the younger man lands his attack, Julian follows up with a little help of his own.
He reaches out and attempts to lay a hand on any part of Failsafe's skin exposed skin. It could be a hand, the back of his neck, or his face if possible. If Julian can make contact, he'll initiate his other ability and attempt to drain a bit of Failsafe's psychic energy.
It won't be enough to drop him outright, but Failsafe wouldn't be shaking off the feeling of disorientation anytime soon, allowing DJ a little more time to attack.
