He intentionally takes a wound on his hand from one of the bone spurs, and uses his own blood to mark the wound on his shoulder, corresponding to where the spur is, creating a sympathetic link and beginning to forcibly heal her injury, trying to make the spike go away, or at least stop hurting in that spot, trying to ease her mind, and find a way to connect to the bestial mind at the same time.
