He doesn't want to watch, but if he doesn't, he will be next. As much as Cassidy hates the pain Rene is going through, he doesn't want to be on that table. He knows it makes him a coward, and he hates it.
But what can he really do? He has no power to fight back against Dr. Milbury.
He takes a deep breath and watches as the Doctor abuses Rene, and wonders to himself what Rene did to deserve this. He's nice to Cassidy and the children. He tells stories.
"Stop it."
The words come from his mouth before he even knows he's spoken them. Doctor Milbury head snaps up as if he's heard a sound he doesn't recognize. He looks at Cassidy across the room, and stares for a moment that feels like forever. Cassidy realizes that he's spoken out against the Doctor, and that means pain is in store for him.
However, the Doctor simply smiles, and lets Rene's head drop back to the table.
"Mission accomplished, Mr. LeBeau. You can go back to your cell." Milbury (Sinister) says.
Then he exits the room, leaving the two of them alone.
