"Like I said, I have something he wants, Rene. If he thinks he's getting it, he has no reason to use you." Cassidy says, hoping his reasoning is sound.
"I don't know what I can do, Rene. If I did, I'd do it and leave this place and take everyone with me." Cassidy says softly, sadly. "Right now, though, I need you to trust me. No matter what I say next, I want you to trust me and not say anything."
Dr. Milbury enters the room just then, looking at the two young men with a rather...sinister smile.
"Are we ready to continue, gentlemen?" the doctor asks.
"No." Cassidy says, trying to remember the plan he'd come up with. He needed to think, needed to breathe a little. He took a deep breath as the Doctor watched him curiously.
"I...I want you to let Rene go. I've come up with a way to bring you more test subjects, Doctor. Rene has volunteered to help us." Cassidy says, smiling.
