He notices that she doesn't say anything about Boston and kicks himself mentally for bringing it up. He has to ease her into the idea of going somewhere without her mother for a time. When she brings up cartoons, he's glad for the save.

"I love Saturday cartoons. Do you watch Tom & Jerry, or did they stop showing it?" he asks.
