"Trust me, the idea of finding a warm spot for a nap is highly appealing to me right now, too." She smiled at him and stood up, offering him her hand. If he'd let her she'd hold his hand while the waited for the valet to return her car--free of scratches--and would only let go so she could drive.
The club she had promised him was in a vastly different but no less interesting part of the city. Less money and more character, the area surrounding Blue was sharp and vibrant. Buildings were old, but well-kept and there was a life behind everything it would seem. No stuffy decor. No stuffy people. Christina parked the car herself in a garage around the corner and would again take his hand to walk the short distance to the club.
"This place is amazing."
And from the second the doors opened and they stepped inside, it truly was. An old-school jazz lounge with people drinking cocktails and low, smokey tones of music weaving through the air. Time stopped.
