Just another night in the city....
Spider-Girl swung her way over the rooftops of New York. She was on the tale of Thadeus Oliver, a former history professor at ESU that went nuts after being exposed to some mystical ancient Mayan artifact that made him want to take over the world. Or something like that. They were all the same, these possesed psychopaths.

Right now, her guy was headed to the Museum of Natural History, on hot on the trail of some other artifact that would supposedly give him even more power.

By the time she got the museum, Thadeus was gone...along with the artifact. Spider-Girl cursed under her breath. God Damnit. Though she was no detective, she should have been fast enough to catch him. Spider-Girl lowered the string of webbing that she was currently hanging down off low enough so that she could get a good glance at the now smashed case in front of her.

She could do this. Thadeus Oliver wasn't a hard man to figure out. She could find out what his next move would be and stop him.

A tingling feeling shot down Spider-Girl's spine, as her Spider Sense kicked into overdrive. Shit. Thadeus must've tripped the silent alarm when he was breaking and entering. Someone was coming...someone who would likely point the finger at her for making off with the artifact.

Spider-Girl sprung up to the ceiling, clinging to it as to avoid being seen.

Lynch had just closed a big case while it was not as overtly paranormal as some of the other cases she had done that didn’t stop it from being so strange. The guy was crazy and though he was one of those stupid vampires from twilight and he had killed a couple people to drink their blood.

It didn’t take long for Lynch to determine that the attacks had not been made by a real vampire and it had taken her some good old fashion detective work of a few days to determine who was doing the attacks.

When she and her partner went to make the arrest the found the crazy guy bathing himself is body glitter to make himself sparkle. It had taken a bit of her restraint not to shoot the guy for Darwin but he was easily enough arrested and brought down town.

Lynch was on her way to celebrate by going to a bar and buying a couple beers for herself when a call came over her radio about a break in at the museum. Since she was the closest officer to the museum went the call went out that the alarms of a robbery at the Natural History Museum she was obligated to check it out.

After getting herself inside the museum she made her way over to the Mayan exhibit where the report had the alerts going off. When she got closer she took her gun out and started moving quietly and carefully there just in case the criminal where still there.

Spider-Girl stayed perfectly still from her perch on the ceiling. If she could just make it over to the exhibit door...she could sneak out without any notice.

But damn that itching sensation in her nose.

She tried everything she could to fight it, but she couldn't help it. Spider-Girl sneezed.

When Lynch got into the exhibit it had already been broken into and it seem like whoever had done this was long gone and the place was as quiet as a tomb. “Damn,” Karen said under her breath this was going to be a lot of paper work.

All of a sudden Lynch heard a sneeze above her. Turning fast and point the gun to where she heard the sneeze she shouts, “NYPD, don’t move.”

Spider-Girl held up her hands. "Please don't shoot me, officer. I'd like to make it to next week. Anyway, if you shot me, you wouldn't get anything done except shoot some poor innocent bystander that knows who we're both after."

Lynch becomes less tense but still hold the gun up, better safe than dead. “Ok, I’m listening,” Karen said, “So what do you know?” Any details she could get quickly could make this whole thing a lot easier.

Spider-Girl shot down a web so that she was standing eye-level with Lynch. Or boob to eye level, in the other woman's case."The thief's name is Thadeus Oliver, former history professor at Empire State University. About a month ago, he came across some ancient Mayan artifact that gave him 'magical mystical powers' and caused him to turn into a huge basket case. Supposedly, this one that he just stole is supposed to turn him into even more of a nutcase." She sighed. "This whole magic mumbo-jumbo is starting to give me a migraine, really."

“Magic just great”, while she wasn’t a specialist in dealing with magic Karen was probably the best person the force at dealing with it due to the work she had done with Walker. “I’ll put out an APB on him but do you have any idea as to where he might have gone because the fast he’s taken down the less time he’ll have to master whatever powers he now has.”

"He's got a grungy apartment on the lower East Side of the city. That's where I bet he's handling all of this. If you want to go ahead and put the call out, I can head out and buy the cops some time."

“That sounds like a good place to check out, I’ll put the call in but you’re not going anywhere without me,” Lynch says with all police seriousness in her voice.

From under her mask, Spider-Girl raised an eyebrow. "I don't need a babysitter."

“Never said you did, but from what you have told me it sounds like you have very little experience at dealing magic and I do have some experience so the smart thing would be for us both to go and stop the guy.”
