Kristoff stares a little at Vincent as he returns. He realizes they're dealing with someone whose actions must be prevented here, but starting out with attacking Taliesin's nervous system like that and rapidly upgrading to this? He feels almost as if Vincent, upon finding an 8-year-old brother violating people's minds, would have given the child a black eye. Kristoff is really not comfortable right now, and so that colors how he hears the next sentence.
There is a perfectly reasonable, fair, and loving way to interpret what Vincent just said. Nearly any day, Kristoff's mind would have taken that interpretation and, if necessary, dragged his feelings by force along the appropriate path.
Today just isn't one of those days.
"Of course," he says oddly. "It is your family after all.
