A sonic blast, a wall of concrete and stone, the Abomination leaping, and another man swinging a punch...the creature was already badly struck thanks to Irina and it knew that it would not have its full victory this day. It would have to settle for having wounded the woman and rattling everyone else.
Without a word but with a loud, inhuman roar, the beast looked towards the sky and as he did, a column of blinding light shot down. In an instant, the beast was gone, but the sense that he would be back another day was strong.
The beast had lost. The others had won.
