After helping Zoey get a gift for her mother, Avery calls home and speaks to his own, telling her that things are great out west, and that he has something big to tell her when he comes home this summer.
He also calls his younger sister to wish her a happy Mother's Day, but decides not to call his older sister. They never talk about the child she gave away.
