Anya shook her head. "In the past the Avengers have been known to give reformed criminals and the like a second chance. While the Young Avengers are just starting out and most of them don't have black marks in their past, some of us do.'
Anya looked at the girl sitting across for her for a moment before she spoke again. "For awhile I was the Lady Mandarin. It's not public knowledge, but as the Lady Mandarin I performed horrible acts. Being brainwashed is not an excuse for it and I still feel responsible for my actions. Nothing will make up for what I did, but this will help me live with myself."
