"Like it would ever stop me, darlin'," he drawled with a smirk. "I'll be right back."
He soon returned with a tray containing the tea service for one, and a plate overflowing with pastries. He was careful to brew only the decafe tea and not make himself any coffee.
He set it down and poured her a cup. "Now, are you really doing all right? Does your doctor agree with that?"
