Franklin was absolutely stunned. His brow was a little furrowed and his jaw was literally hanging. He wasn't holding his mug as tight as before, despite his muscles being tense. But most of this wasn't because of everything Vincent had told him. He had one detail, although it might have been minor to a lot of people, that he could not get beyond when everything was factored in.

"Odin gave you what name? And you accepted it? What kind of bull shit is that?!"

Franklin was literally thrown for a loop.

"You had the option of coming back and helping the family. You saw me go to Hell--to HELL. You knew things were bad with the people who have treated you like family. But instead, you got opportunistic and chose to stay and get strong again. Do you know who does that, Vincent? Do you know who else is opportunistic?"

He let silence settle in for a moment, although he clearly wasn't done talking. He's in tears, but not wholly because he was sad. Franklin was angry--really angry. Franklin's body was tense. Had he been holding his mug, it probably would have broken.

"Victor von Doom is. And considering what I've heard you do lately, I'm not seeing much of a difference between you two anymore. And then--after all of that--you think you have the right to claim my family name? What gives you that balls to think you can? What makes you think you deserve it? What the hell makes Odin think you deserve it?"

He stood up and started breathing, but he held out his hand to let Vincent know he wasn't done yet.

"I..."

He kept breathing to calm himself down. He was glad his blocks were in place again, or he might have lost control. After a few moments, Franklin managed to compose himself enough to look Vincent, trying to look him in the eyes. He just couldn't get himself to do it.

"Do you know the difference between a God and a mortal, Vincent? We die faster and easier. If it was really the end for the Gods, you'd be dead too. Did you realize that before or after you tested your new magical powers?"
