She'd gotten pretty adept at laying low and staying one step ahead of trouble and while she couldn't be certain that anyone knew exactly where she was at any moment, Elise knew that eventually her family would come for her. That was the thought that disturbed her most of all. It was unnatural. She'd rather live on the run and homeless for the rest of her days...days she often hoped would be few...than go back to that.
She'd been in Cambridge three days before she was sufficiently confident that she was alone in the city and thus decided to venture out from her latest hiding place. It was a nice night and while dining out was well off her budget, a nice cup of espresso at a nice restaurant would be more than enough to make her feel, well, normal.
She headed towards Cinderella's and by the time she was close enough to hear the din of the restaurant, she was smiling a bit. It felt good to smile.
