And the rest of their preparations for the day come smoothly. And the dress comes, and it's beautiful, and they go out, and Gio manages to keep extremely subtle in her constant examination of their surroundings for potential threats, so the issue isn't right in their faces. The smiling helps with that.
And dinner is excellent, and the play is fantastic, and she's cheerfully expressive about these things all the way back.
And when there's a lull in the conversation as they get back up to the rooms, she says. "You know, it's been just a little over six months since we decided this wasn't going to Ruin Everything."
