Family Demon Hunting Road Trips! @ 04:13 am

[info]magic_hands:

Bumping along a dirt road in  what, to any sane person, was probably the most outlandish and least safe car ever, Martin looks out the window at all the wheat fields. Now surely somewhere in there was a demon. There had to be! The detector in the car said so! Granted, at the last stop it had lead them to the ghost of some old lady that was very dull, and her dog which had just been noisy, but still...it should work eventually. He needed to tell Marlow how much he liked this car again. Charmed to the brim meant: bonus! He could touch stuff. And hey, that was a rare thing with him.

Anyway, they were better than the Ghostbusters. You had to call those guys. Nobody had called them!

The Great Demon Hunting Road Trip continues!

Drive it like you stole it! @ 08:39 am

The fact is it is a nice car made better with the previous owner taking good care and keeping it street legal. It handles being thrown into insane turns and skipping gears when shifting with relatively little complaint. Even the speakers are perfectly ear-meltingly loud, so the sirens coming up behind aren't heard but the lights in the rear view mirrors are.  "Well the good news is that the local cops are on their game and not uselessly munching donuts," Frances points out with a light tone and looks over her shoulder to see their distant, clearly donut-lacking, tails.

Since when is Arkansas a shortcut to Los Angeles? @ 10:30 am

When Someone wants to see the world's largest Tesla coil.

Picture it - two royals loose in the wilds of America. They could have flown, by plane or suits. They may have even thought they'd get away without security following, as they could provide security for each other. They might have decided to recreate a childhood vacation from the view point of adults with more adult interests. Misha might've decided Brat needed a break and tossed her into the car backseat with a couple of pillows, a ice chest of supplies, and driven off into the night.

He hadn't been cruel about it. She /did/ have her laptop and satellite phone with access to the Urbanspoon app. She could find a burger anywhere they went.

Plus there was a '65 Mercury Comet Caliente car frame in Alabama that Misha wanted to see personally. If he liked it, he was going to have it shipped back to New York to keep company with the Corvette shell. Finally, he was letting Anya's teasing get to him. No more could she mock him about saving his salary from Xavier's to get the things he wanted. He was going to dip (a little) into those reserves she kept telling him he had and do something he loved - restore cars and drive them at breakneck speeds.

Except now she was in the spirit of the thing and wanted to stop in Arkansas. "Don't you have one of those things in your basement?" he asked.
