He understood her concern. Why did this have to happen now, of all times?
"This doesn't happen with any frequency I can predict, Sydney. Usually, it happens most and easiest when I'm sleeping. I see things, but I can rarely remember them when I wake up. But it's irregular. It may happen three nights straight, then I won't see anything at all for six months." he tells her.
"I saw something on my birthday. Twice." he tells her.
"I understand if this changes your mind about things, Sydney. But I'd never let anything happen to Zoey unless it happened to me first. Please believe that." he says.
