Vernique's taken a couple of inches off, just to up her durability and feel a little safer, without getting extreme -- or making her dress trail in the dirt.
By her reckoning, she's the only one of the group who's shorter than all the men surrounding them. She would be even if she'd kept her full height. The old adage about people in the past being shorter applies slightly less to Vikings, it seems.
She keeps her hand out of her purse.
