Midnight's reaching for the other knife on his belt as he untangles himself from Mina as quickly as he can. The strange intruder in black doesn't get to attack as the brimstone blast hits him square in the chest. Knocked back, Midnight ends up sprawled on the kitchen floor with his head swimming.
