Summer Breeze (Open)

The city was humid and hot, but Heath found the perfect escape under a large tree in Central Park. Though everyone seemed to be sweating in the heat, Heath kept cool in his oasis under the tree. To seem less suspicious he continually changed the direction he had his self created breeze hit him. In his lap was a script for an off Broadway show that his agent thought would be good for him. It was an interesting story of three friends trying to make it in the world of rock and roll, nothing like “Edge of a Cliff”. Between being amazed by the words on the page and having to change the direction of his personal breeze Heath people watched. Studying how different types of people moved and talked was a fun and useful pastime as an actor.

"Heath," Kristoff said politely as he walked over. "What a pleasant coincidence to see you here."

"Kristoff," Heath replied sitting up. "What's up man?"

Kristoff nods to a bunch of elementary students playing in the distance. "A few of Scotty's school friends wanted to meet at the park. I am attempting to keep an appropriate 'non-overbearing parent' distance while still taking into account that it has been six months since anyone unfortunate got near my son --" He still loves saying that. His son. His. Cue maniacal laughter except that he's gotten better about not doing that. "So our luck may not hold and I want to stay close. But how are you, Heath?"

"Doing good. Figuring out how east coast life is going to be." Heath replied looking back at the script in his lap. "Looks like it is back to stage work for me then."

"It's a transition, the entire thing." Heath said thinking about the rest of his things being shiped from LA. "And I forgot how much memorizing an entire play can be."

"I can imagine. Are regretting your decision?" he asks as delicately as possible.

"God no, the people here are real. LA I swear I meet the same people fifty times a day."

"Ah, I see. Yes, better company can be a comfort when adjusting to New York."

"And having family here helps the most." Heath said smiling thinking of his cousins.

"That indeed makes sense. Franklin and Valeria have been through a great deal in the year so far. It is good for them to have more family around, too, I believe."
