When Alex moves toward the first two duplicates, they become intangible to prevent being torn to shreds out of hand. They'll take turns drawing Alex's attention so that the other can attempt to strike.
With Marinna, the other two duplicates go in solid and try to pound her down before she can get a head of steam going. The armor makes this difficult, but still they try, hoping to slow her down.
