She smiled but inside it hurt more than her injuries ever had. She wanted to tell him that she had been there and that she had been fighting against Very Bad People. She wanted to think that he'd be proud of her for trying to save a young man's life but...
...he wasn't a mutant and despite him having a mutant sister she really hadn't reached the level of understanding with him that let her predict how he'd react. And she'd promised she wouldn't read his mind.
"That Adrian Carver guy is as much the problem as the so-called mutant terrorist groups. He spreads hate disguised as news. It's no wonder humans would probably stone me in the street if they had a moment's chance. He better hope he never crosses my path. I'll deck him."
