The sword Balor had been using came apart under the onslaught and broke into its component pieces. When it broke it unleashed another challenge for the Defenders. Surtur. Lord of Muspelheim and of the fire demons.
Surtur rose up and out of where he had been imprisoned in the Evil Eye of Avalon and looked at the scene around him.
"I AM FREE!" he said in a booming voice. "ALL WILL BE DESTROYED!" Even in his weakened state, he was still strong enough to take on the mortal world.
