It was an extremely good thing Rose had already trained herself not to swear (her mom insisted), because mission mind-set or not, she might have otherwise. Guilt that they hadn't been able to do more for Fargo touched her mind, and brought Cassidy back to the forefront.
In her heart, she didn't truly hold the kid any malice... but it was hard sometimes.
"I saw that on the news," she said. "I... I'm sorry, Brad."
"But it works? The x-gene thing everyone's talking about?"
