Evelyn Landon is not waiting on the steps when they arrive, but inside the kitchen with a pot of tea ready.
When Tech and Sam arrive, Evelyn breathes a sigh of relief and gets up to go hug her grandson. Gently, of course.
"Jason! Jesus Christ, Sheperd of Judea, I'm so glad you're all right! I heard that Sookie Stevens pulled a gun on you in Steve Marriot's bar! Ethel Caldwell heard from Annabelle Holliday, who heard from Arlene Fisher, who was sittin' in the bar with her kids when it happened.
Sam, are you all right, dear? What happened?" she asks, concern etched in her face. There is redness in her eyes as well, which doesn't look like waking up from a sound sleep.
